Pongrácz, Ferenc
Ferenc, Pongrácz, CEO at SurgiFRONT Ltd. directed the software development for the CranioPass project. He participated in this project after many years of work on various fields of research and innovations (computational neuron modelling with simulation framework provided by Saber Analogy Inc. and applying the results in neurobiological research at Yale University, New Haven, USA; following this participating in innovative medical applications with new motion tracking systems targeted by ARTMA Biomedical Inc. located in Salt Lake City, USA and Vienna, Austria). The local achievements of the last 12 years are based on previous experience and concern the needs of local hospital (St. John Hospital, Budapest, Hungary). Valálik, István
István Valálik, MD, PhD, MSc, is a neurosurgeon and the Head Physician of the Department of Neurosurgery at St. John’s Hospital in Budapest. He is also an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Debrecen. In 2011, he defended his PhD thesis titled “CT-guided Stereotactic Thermolesion and Deep Brain Stimulation in the Treatment of Parkinson’s Disease.” In 2015, he earned an MSc in Health Services Management.
Dr. Valálik’s scientific interests include movement disorders, MR-tractography-based surgical planning, psychiatric surgery, as well as acoustic and motion analysis. He developed software for planning stereotactic brain surgeries and a portable neuro-navigation system.
Since 2010, he has been a member of the Executive Committee of the European Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (essfn.org). In 2013, he received an award from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences for his book Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery. In 2019, he was involved in the successful surgical separation of craniopagus twins in Bangladesh.
